Hi everyone, welcome to the first edition of my monthly blog. It’s been another busy month at Continua. Despite the current economic climate, the team continues to go from strength to strength with every division of the company securing excellent wins this quarter, all of which has allowed us to grow our total revenue year on year.
Our maintenance division has won a number of new contracts with some of the UK’s leading print and financial institutions, meaning that we have surpassed all previous results. One example is Alpha Education, who have chosen Continua to support their fleet of IBM 4100 Continuous Feed printers. We also have some good news on our supply division as it has also grown by 28% and I am confident it will continue to grow at a steady rate in 2010, especially with the launch of the new range of Xerox alternative cartridges for HP printers. Our product sales are also up a staggering 1069% year-on-year as the market responds positively to our range of new and refurbished finishing and printing equipment.
That being said, we are keen not to rest on our laurels and have launched our Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategy. The aim is to develop a closer relationship between maintenance and our customer operations team, allowing us to raise the overall equipment efficiency (OEE). We know that our customers will see the value of it and the initial feedback we have had to date has been excellent.
So what can we expect in the coming months? This morning’s polls show Labour has 314 seats while the Conservatives have 259 – making the likelihood of a hung parliament a real possibility. The economy is still recovering, although very fragile, so indecision in Westminster is not what anyone needs in these times. That being said, I am optimistic about the outlook for the coming year. Our customer feedback shows that our range of services and products is really valuable to them, and our customer base is continuing to expand.
Finally, with IPEX just around the corner, the team is very busy. If you’re thinking of attending why not call by the Xerox stand 7-CD450 for a chat and tell us what you think of the TPM? Or maybe what you think of the newly launched Xerox CF Printer technology.
